A shared set of principles for articles, itineraries, invitations to travel together, comments, group messages, profiles and photographs on VietnamBackpackers.
We want people to share genuine experiences without having to navigate a forum full of advertising, personal attacks or dangerous information. These rules protect the conversation, not silence differences of opinion.
Do not threaten others, incite violence, explain how to break the law or promote a dangerous route as though it were suitable for everyone.
Do not harass, insult, defame, demean or attack an individual or group. Discuss the facts, not someone's dignity.
Do not post someone else's phone number, email, address, private photographs or identifying information without consent.
Distinguish personal experience from verified facts. Do not knowingly share misinformation that could cause others to lose money or put them in danger.
No spam, disguised advertising, fraud, gambling, malicious links, steering people to sales channels or repetitive content that disrupts the discussion.
Do not copy articles verbatim, use photographs without permission or impersonate others. Credit the source when content is not your own.
The automated system looks for signals such as suspicious links, contact details, spam, unsafe code and invalid image files. Suspect content is held for editorial review rather than immediately deleted.
Depending on the severity and history of violations, we may reject or hide content, restrict a feature, or suspend an account temporarily or permanently. Decision histories are kept for review when needed.
Use the report feature on that content. Report violations, not simply opinions that differ from yours.
